When the unicorn shows up, whether it be in dreams, visions, or right before our eyes, things are about to get interesting.

Believed to be an angel disguised as an animal, the unicorn symbolizes purity, courage, and an unrivaled healing ability.

She is also full of secrets.

Like many enchanted beings, the unicorn is elusive because she must be. She knows that humans often fear the very thing they desire. Be it a wild heart, magick, the unknown, or in her case, all the above.

Perhaps an easier way to say it—humans fear the truth.

And I don’t mean truth as we understand it in the physical world or the literal sense.

Because, although the unicorn occasionally visits the mortal realm, she also straddles the boundary between this reality and the next. And once anyone leaves this world to experience another, the idea of truth expands.

It shifts.

Many times, what we know to be true takes on an entirely different shape.

So when the unicorn appears, what message does she have for us? Is she telling us to charge ahead to find the answers we seek?

Or is her arrival a warning? One that suggests we retreat to the safety of the woods, where we can rest, regroup, and illuminate our truth through the inner world of knowing.

The unicorn won’t answer us directly. Of course not. She prefers communicating through riddles and obscure clues that we would be wise to collect.

This creature is helpful but complex. She is here to heal. To make us think. She finds joy through helping others reach self-realization. She offers balance, and often arrives when we’re teetering on a precipice, struggling to understand the impact of our beliefs.

Lucky for us, we can talk to the unicorn about anything, but she is a wise advisor for the ‘big’ questions. The ones that keep us up at night. Musings like:

Out of all the planets and all the stars that make up all the galaxies, why am I here?

When and for what reason did I stop believing in magick?

Where does my soul go when I’m dreaming? When I’m creating? When I die?

Do my words reflect my thoughts? Do my thoughts align with the person I strive to be?

What opposing viewpoints do I find triggering? Where does this reaction stem from?

If words aren’t enough to make you question your truth, you might be destined for a greater journey. One that will take you places where words are obsolete.

So when you’re ready to take a peek through the lens of the divine, hop aboard the mythical one-horned mare with a simple request—a  flight through the cosmos.

Because for many humans, seeing is believing.

And thanks to the unicorn’s boundless perspectives, prancing from one dimension to the next is no big fete.

With practice, it becomes the norm.

Perhaps it’s worth mentioning that the unicorn experiences so much magick because magick is a part of its truth.

When we decide to live by the rules of magick, we’re unstoppable. Some might say invincible. At the very least, we are aligned with a way of thinking that speaks to the supernatural.

However, that doesn’t mean living our truth will be easy. Plato said that no one is more hated than he who speaks the truth, and after spending some time in the netherworlds, we are inclined to agree.

But that’s no reason to fear the unicorn.

Especially since, for most humans, the unicorn is out of reach. She spends her days enchanting the forests and soaring through the constellations. She heals, she hunts, and she unites realities. She has little time for frivolities or drama disguised as entertainment.

So when the unicorn starts showing up in books, in conversations, or our daydreams—take note. There is much to discuss.

Messages from the Unicorn:

  • Revisit your boundaries. What are they protecting? How are they limiting?
  • Consider the books (or TV shows, movies, projects) in which you are immersed. How does what we consume influence our truth?
  • Beneath the layers of fear, self-doubt, and routine, lies an infinite expanse of possibility.
  • We make our truth. Create wisely.
  • Be passionate but flexible. Keep your heart open to the idea that the human experience may be drastically different from how you originally thought.
  • Life is not black nor white. Find the rainbow. Or better yet, be the rainbow.
