The Leo new moon on August 16th brings our attention to matters of the heart. Venus retrograde brings reflection around relationships, love, creativity and worthiness. Though retrogrades can present bumps on the road, Venus’s lessons are initiating us into the kings and queens that we truly are, but have forgotten how to embody. With Uranus and Jupiter play, these unforeseen “bumps” are meant to awaken us and reveal where we’ve fallen asleep to old patterns and conditioning.
Venus retrograde forms a conjunction to the new moon in Leo, calling us to face our inner Aphrodites. This is the part of our psyche that seeks divine union, love, harmony, peace, pleasure, creativity, and beauty. Venus Rx in Leo asks us to reflect upon our relationships to this archetype and its impact on our ability to embody the kings and queens that we truly are. She will highlight where there is inner turmoil and disharmony between parts of ourselves, inviting us to restore wholeness by bringing them into divine union. For example, one part of us may want to share our creative projects with the world, but another part may want to protect us from rejection, impacting our ability to be seen. Venus will ask us to do the inner work to bring love to these parts, so we may embrace Leo themes such as regality, courage, confidence, strength, and being in the spotlight.
Venus also points to our relationships as mirrors to our inner landscapes. Disharmony in our connections often points to turmoil within. Venus Rx asks us to reflect upon fearful past versions of ourselves that show up in our relationships. Now is the time to heal these parts of us, so we may have the confidence to be seen, the sovereignty to own our decisions, the courage to advocate for what we deserve, and the worthiness to see the beauty within ourselves.
Lastly, Uranus and Jupiter form squares to the new moon. Jupiter challenges us to make deeper meaning of our experiences and recognize the spiritual lessons at play. Within the sign of Taurus, he will show us where our stubbornness hinders our growth and expansion, or where we are playing small to stay within our comfort zones. He’ll reveal where we are blocking our blessings with spiritual laziness and resistance to the lessons that life is offering. It is easier (in the short term) to entertain illusions of unworthiness, rather than claim who we are with a mighty roar. Uranus will ask us to break free of our old habits, conditioning, and ways of being that keep us stagnant and imprisoned. He’ll awaken us to our truth - that we are the kings and queens of our own realities and always were.
