As we journey through the Tarot, meeting the archetypes of the Major Arcana, we encounter the Devil card. This card, often misunderstood, marks a turning point in our spiritual and psychological journeys. The Devil, traditionally represented by the figure of Baphomet, sits on a throne, with two humans in chains beside him. While the chains around their wrists are loose enough to be removed, they remain, symbolizing self-imposed limitations and the prisons we create for ourselves.

This card brings forward the limiting beliefs and the shadows that live within our psyche. It arrives on our tables during times when we are being called to confront our shadows, pushing us to acknowledge and work through what holds back our growth. The Devil card is the card of shadow work, reminding us that while this work can be uncomfortable, it is in this discomfort that the potential for growth lies.

When the Devil appears reversed, it is as if the self-imposed shackles are coming off.

Reversed, is a sign from the universe that you're moving past a period of deep introspection, acknowledging your shadows and working towards growth.
