Gather round for a story about the moon in Cancer...

After her stay in Mercury's house of Gemini, the Moon travels on to visit Cancer. She leaves the bustling city streets, passes through small towns, and sets off on a dirt path. Weaving her way through thick trees and overgrown ferns, she finds herself standing at the doorstep of her little cottage. Situated peacefully next to a rushing river, the only sounds she can hear in this place are the moving water, the chirping of birds, and her own thoughts. She is finally home.

She steps inside the quaint space and is immediately greeted by her sole charge and companion. The cat purrs and rubs against her legs, welcoming her home and asking for food. Before The Moon gets comfortable herself, she heads to the kitchen to prepare her familiar a dish. The kitchen is small and full of apothecary jars and dried herbs, earth medicine that she relies on to heal herself and others. Once her companion is cared for, she sets out to get her home space in order. She lights a small fire with fallen wood from the forest, lights a few candles, and puts on a pot of tea. She relaxes into her favorite chair and wraps herself in her favorite quilt that her grandmother made her when she was a child. She opens her favorite book, her journal, and begins to write of her travels.

She cries as she remembers Pisces and the magickal nights on the sailboat, speaking to the universe with Jupiter. She writes out the lessons she learned in Capricorn and how Saturn was stern but well-meaning. She wrote of her friend Venus and how beautiful her home was in Libra, thinking maybe she will replicate some of her design choices in her own home. She writes of her stay in Scorpio and how intimidating yet thought-provoking the two gods in that home were…Mars & Pluto. She laughed when she thought of her days in Sagittarius with the jovial energy of Jupiter and wondered how he was doing on his climb of Kilimanjaro.

She locked her doors, closed her shades, and took no visitors. The Moon was in sanctuary in her home of Cancer. She would spend her days sleeping in, journaling, cooking stews, caring for her cat, and caring for herself. She would go outside only to bathe in the river and speak to the nature spirits before retreating back into her favorite chair by the fire. She only has a few days here, and she relishes in every moment.
