Our traveling moon bid adieu to the home of Jupiter yesterday and made her way to Saturn's house of Capricorn. As she approached, she couldn’t help but notice the stark difference between the mansion she just left and the tiny home before her. She knew Saturn was practical, but this was something else.
She was greeted by the god himself and told he preferred to be addressed as Kronos, his ancient given name. He motioned her to come inside and pulled up a chair at the simple table in the center of the room. Lady Luna looked around, taking in the atmosphere and getting her bearings in this new environment.
It was modern, simple, and functional. There were family photos on the wall that went back generations, and she could tell he cared for whoever was pictured. The room's centerpiece was the workspace and desk piled high with papers and folders. She caught Kronos eyeing the stack a few times and could tell he was anxious to return to it. He was a hard worker, and success came easy to him…why does he live so simply, she wondered.
Kronos informed her they would be having an early dinner so that he could return to work as soon as possible. He had long-term goals that he tended to daily, and today would be no exception. As they ate, he lectured the moon on the importance of slow growth, laying foundations, and setting boundaries. He inquired about her plans and listened quietly as she shared. She almost felt as if he disapproved of her ways and didn’t care much for her fluid approach to life. After dinner, she said goodnight and went to her room, a simple space with everything she needed and nothing more. “This god is probably sitting on a million dollars, but you’d never guess it based on his home…” she laughed.
As she tried to fall asleep, she realized that she really wasn’t the most comfortable in the house of Saturn and Capricorn. She could learn from him, yes, but they differed so much in nature and personality; she found herself feeling grateful for a short stay.
